Diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the whole spine:
- Disc diseases (discopathy)
- Disc prolapse (disc hernia)
- Spinal arthrosis (facet joint arthrosis)
- Narrow spinal canal (spinal stenosis)
- Vertebral displacement (spondylolisthesis)
- Spinal instability
- Curvature of the spine (scoliosis)
- Infection (spondylitis, spondylodiscitis, abscesses)
- Fractured vertebrae, especially with osteoporosis
- Tumours, metastases, cysts
Methods and quality control:
- Monitoring the disease with validated tests and questionnaires
- Surgery: entire range of modern spinal operations local anaesthetic preferred for surgery on the lumbar spine):
- Microsurgical and endoscopic disc hernia operations (minimally invasive)
- Disc prostheses in the cervical spine
- Surgical treatment of spinal stenosis (decompression,recalibration)
- Stabilisation: dynamic with interspinous implants or fusion with pedicle screw system,
screws, plates, retainers;
(Käfig, Spacer, ACIF, PLIF, ALIF) - Surgical treatment of osteoporosis fractures (vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty)
